EC President says to present 12th package of Russian sanctions soon
MOSCOW, Nov 7 (PRIME) -- The European Commission (EC) plans to present the 12th package of anti-Russian sanctions with new export and import bans and with a tougher oil price cap very soon, EC President Ursula von der Leyen said on November 4 on her Twitter page.
“We will continue to make Russia pay for its aggression. We will soon propose a 12th package of sanctions. With new listings. New import and export bans. Actions to tighten the oil price cap. And to further crack down on sanctions circumvention,” she said.
Politico newswire said earlier quoting E.U. diplomats that the European Commission was going to present the new package this week and that consultations may go on until the end of 2023, while Bloomberg reported that the proposals may include measures against chemicals, processed metals, aluminum goods, construction goods, software licenses, and diamonds.
